What is Ancient Roman Architecture?

Roman citizens lived in apartment type buildings or small houses. Wealthier Romans had a larger home with rich interiors called a Villa. Roman towns and cities had a large open space called a Forum usually in the middle of the town site. Surrounding the Forum would be a Theater for cultural activities such as plays, dancing acrobatics and sports. The Romans also built grand Temples to honor their Gods and Goddesses. [SB] {HO}
