Drama is defined as; a composition, in prose or poetry, accommodated to action, and intended
to exhibit a picture of human life, or to depict a series of grave or humorous actions of
more than ordinary interest, tending toward some striking result. It is commonly designed to
be spoken and represented by actors on the stage.
The classification "drama" refers to both plays or scripts (that are acted out) and any type of writing that involves conflicts or
suspense and builds to a climax. A dramatic work may be entirely based on imagined people, places, and events (i.e.
fiction), or it may be based on facts (i.e. non-fiction).
