Romance
Romance is derived from Old French romanz.
Romance can mean either a medieval narrative composition or a love affair, generally one of a rather idyllic or idealized type, sometimes marked by strange or unexpected incidents and developments.
Romance is defined as a long fictitious tale of heroes and extraordinary or mysterious events, usually set in a distant time or place.

Alternatively, Romance may be defined any creative style of literature having to do with love, or heroes - especially falling in love.
For example, Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac or any Harlequin Romance.
