Acoustics

This is the term we apply to the science of hearing, and discoveries are still being made. Here are some of the things we know on the subject. First is that the nature of sound itself, is not a thing. It is a sensation, something we feel. When somebody hits a drum, such as this Mexican Tarahumara Indian, it sets the drum skin vibrating a little; it in turn set the particles of air around them vibrating; then the vibes of the air reach your ear drums, and they vibrate; your nerves carry the signal to the brain.
