Bronze
Bronze sculpture are first modelled in plaster or clay. Then a mould
is made of this form. The inside of this mould is coated with a layer of melted wax. This
creates a hollow wax model which is packed, metal pins are inserted to keep the packed centre in
place. When this is heated the wax melts and is poured out, and molten bronze is poured in its place.
When broken apart the bronze form remains. This bronze form is identical to the first plaster or
clay form that was created. The process is completed by cleaning and finishing the bronze surface.
