New Realism
Artists began to make use of commercial art techniques to create more realistic images.
Air brushing, photography, spray and other techniques where used.
Duane Hanson went so far as to create lifesize, coloured models of human beings surrounded by actual objects that are so realistic that often the viewers can only gape or giggle.
This movement has also been referred to as Super Realism, Photorealism, New Realism, and Hyper-Realism.
