The steps taken to prepare the warp for weaving is known as winding the warp. The yarns are wound on a frame called a warping board. The warping board has removable pegs to allow the weaver to adjust the length of the warp.
A guide string marks the path for all the warp yarns to follow.
The weaver prepares the warp by winding on to the warping board the number and length of warps yarns needed for the project.
