HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK TEST ATG The Threading Order

Click here for more!

This picture shows the warp (horizontal) threading section of the weaving draft.

The solid red line at the top of the graph is the warp thread colour guide. The warp colour guide tells the weaver what colour warp threads to use. This draft uses red threads but any number or types of coloured threads can be used.

The threading order for the warp yarns is recorded on the graph just below the warp colour guide. Each horizontal row of the graph represents one harness on the loom. This pattern uses four harnesses.

The little squares on the graph, reading right to left, indicate which harness a warp yarn is threaded through. The first square on the graph is on row 2. Therefore the first warp yarn is threaded through a heddle on the second harness of the loom. The second square is on the fourth row, so it will be threaded through a heddle on harness four. The weaver continues threading in this manner until all the warp yarns are threaded.

The path a warp thread takes through the cloth can been seen by looking down each row into the drawdown area. MORE! [SB] {SB}
