The Tekeze River forms the border with Eritrea & flows into the Atbara. The River Nile in neighbouring Sudan receives the Atbara & the Blue Nile, draining the west side of the Ethiopian Highlands into the Mediterranean Sea. The Ganale-Dorya/Juba River & the more northerly Wabi Shebele River drain the east side through Somalia to the Indian Ocean. [NS] {NG}
