The Milky Way

The Milky Way Galaxy is a Spiral galaxy consisting of several billion stars, one of which is the Sun. Some of the constellations the Milky Way passes through are Carina, Crux, Sagittarius, Scorpius, Aquila, Cygnus, Perseus, Cassiopeia, Auriga, and Gemini. When The Milky Way is viewed from earth, many stars and much gas and dust can be seen. A band of white across the sky, with some dark material, can also be seen. People have called that band of light that appears to cross the sky by the name The Milky Way because of that milky appearance. [VH] {SR} {EP} {EB}
