Golden Age
(320-467AD)
From as early as 3000BC India has been a country of
great cultural and racial diversity. The
leadership of the Gupta emperors is sometimes
called the golden age in India. Under the
Guptas, literature, art, science and mathematics
flourished Harmony and order were key concepts
in the world view of ancient India. The
philosophers of India saw all things - stars, rocks,
trees, people - as different forms of
the same universal spirit.
