Chinese Writing
Fortunately,
all
Chinese use the same system of writing. This system of writing, which is called "hanzi"
is greatly
different from the system of writing English. In English the written letter
represent sounds, whereas "hanzi"
uses symbols to represent ideas and objects. This use of
symbols instead of sounds allows the Chinese writing
system to be easily understood by this
large population. This photograph of modern Singapore is framed by
neon Chinese signs.
