History of British Virgin Islands
In 1912, as a result of the First Balkan War & with the help of Austria-Hungary & Italy, the
British Virgin Islands gained its independance.
World War I ended leaving the British Virgin
Islands almost in anarchy,
until 1924 when, with the help of Yugoslavia, a tribal chief,
Ahmed Zogu, became President.
