Modern Ethiopia
Melelik II ruled from 1889 to
1913. At the time of his death there was a time
of unrest until Haile Selassie took the
throne. When Italy took over Ethiopia
in 1936, Selassie fled. During WWII Selassie fled as
British and Ethiopian
troops drove out the Italians.
