During the 18th century Britain became more involved with Malaysia. In 1819 Singapore was founded & the Dutch ceded Malacca to Great Britain several years later. In the 19th century Britain controlled most of Malaysia as well as the northern portions of Borneo. Britain established many tea plantations throughout Malaysia. [BM] {UA}
