In 1815 Slovenia was incorporated into the Austrian Empire for the second time in the history of the Slovene people. The Austrian monarchy collapsed in WWI which led to the new Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia was composed of Croats, Serbs & Slovenes. Of these three peoples the Slovenes had higher educations & were more industrialized thus ensuring a position of importance within the new Yugoslavia. [BM] {UA}
