Mayan Culture

Between 300 and 900AD, the Maya developed a sophisticated culture. Great stone temples and palaces were built in well populated cities. They had a written language, practised advanced mathematics, and kept accurate calender based on astronomy. Mayan civilization developed as a string of city states stretching from Mexico to Honduras. They were linked by culture, religion, language and by a paved road network.
