In the 1800's Christians in the Pennsylvania and Kentucky area were discouraged by the separation that existed between the different Christian denominations. Their goal was to create a nondenominational church. This failed as in time they too became a denomination. Ironically, differences within this church, including whether or not instrumental music should be played succeeded in causing further divisions within this denomination. [BM] {VA}
