Luge
In this winter sport, individuals slide down a twisted, ice-covered course while
lying on
their backs with their feet at the front of a special runnered sled.
Competitors
race against the
clock, and the person with the fastest time wins. Competitors often reach
speed of 112 km/h (70
mph). Luge has been popular in Europe since the late 19th century. MORE!
