Scoot
Much like the air boats used in the Florida
everglades, scoots are
boat-like
vehicles powered by a propellor mounted at the rear. While the
everglades air boats
are used
because a prop would get tangled in the swamp, scoots are used to
cover broken ice,
especially during spring thaw. Built in home garages, scoots have either a
plywood or metal
hull,
and use an actually airplane propellor for power. Commercially manufatured
scoots are
uncommon. Competitiors vie to be the fastest.
