Swimming
It is believed that
people started learning to swim from observing animals.
Organized swimming did not occur
until 1603
when Japan made swimming a compulsory subject in school.
The original style was
the breaststroke
and was designed for endurance, in 1846 at the first swimming
championship
in Australia. New styles of swimming
emerged when timed races were introduced. MORE!
