Human Skeleton 2
These bones are divided into
four classes:
Long Bones are found in the limbs, and help to move the
body. Short Bones are found
in parts of the body where strength and compactness are
needed, e.g. kneecap or patella. Flat Bones help to
protect certain structures, and provide a broad surface
for muscle attachment. Irregular Bones are
bones which cannot be grouped in any other
categories, e.g. vertebrae.
