Freons

Freons are synthetic chemicals invented by duPont. They consist of Carbon, Fluorine and other Halogens. They are chemically stable, nontoxic, and nonflammable, which make them safe to humans. The high density, low boiling point, and low viscosity of Freons makes them ideal for refrigerants, aerosols, solvents. In recent years scientists have determined that Freons and other Chlorofluorocarbons contribute to ozone depletion. [LM] {AA} {BR}
