Rock Salt
Rock salt is a colourless to white rock when pure; it has a salty taste. The mineral halite represents 95% to 99% of the composition of rock salt; other minerals that can be found include anhydrite and dolomite. Rock salt develops from evaporated salt-water lakes. Large masses can be found in Austria and Poland. Rock salt is essential in producing many consumer products, such as glass, table salt, and textiles.
