Perception
If you think of your brain as a computer,
your brain gets its "input" through your five senses
(seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, and touching).
Taking in information through your senses is called "perceiving", or "perception".
Psychologists study perception to try to answer questions like,
"Why do some people notice colours more than shapes, and others notice shapes more than colours?"
